"If the God you believe in as an idea doesn’t start showing up in what happens to you in your own life, you have as much cause for concern as if the God you don’t believe in as an idea does start showing up. It is absolutely crucial, therefore, to keep in constant touch with what is going on in your own life’s story and to pay close attention to what is going on in the stories of others’ lives. If God is present anywhere, it is in those stories that God is present. If God is not present in those stories, then they are scarcely worth telling." ~ Frederick Buechner

DBC & Awesome Stickers

Last week, we visited Denton Bible Church.
It was far, far away. Forty minutes away.

B did not fall asleep either on the way there or on the way back.

But we loved it.

The pastor there - Tom Nelson - was one of the very first people N ever heard preach after becoming a Christian, and he did not disappoint last Sunday. His message was biblically sound, well-delivered, and highly entertaining.

Not that we go to church to be entertained.

But it sure is nice to be able to laugh in church.

And they gave us a CD.

And candy. GOOD candy.
Obviously, we ate it all.

Honestly, though, I have to say that my absolute favorite part about visiting DBC last week was this:
You guys.

We finally live in a place where my half-Korean child gets to have stickers of children who actually resemble him, the not-blond-not-blue-eyed kid.

It is, as we like to say in our family, awesome-possum.
