"If the God you believe in as an idea doesn’t start showing up in what happens to you in your own life, you have as much cause for concern as if the God you don’t believe in as an idea does start showing up. It is absolutely crucial, therefore, to keep in constant touch with what is going on in your own life’s story and to pay close attention to what is going on in the stories of others’ lives. If God is present anywhere, it is in those stories that God is present. If God is not present in those stories, then they are scarcely worth telling." ~ Frederick Buechner

A Day In Preparation for Spring Forward

Dealing with Daylight Savings is a little bit trickier when there are small people involved. Knowing that we would lose an hour overnight on Saturday, we filled our day with lots of activity and stimulation so that we could put B to bed a little bit early.
We woke up to the scent of Daddy making scrumptious homemade banana pancakes (which B wanted to eat with an ice cream scoop).
We spent the morning at the aquarium.
The 360 tunnel is captivating!
So fun to be able to feel different kinds of starfish and anemones!
There were even two little baby sharks we could pet.
Daddy and B went on a wild ride on the carousel.
As I was checking out the clearance racks, B put on these glasses and ran to show them to me, because he knew I would laugh. He is quite the comedian these days, doing various funny things deliberately.
After a good nap and lunch, we visited Lowe's. The mowers are B's favorite things in the store.
And of course, the vacuums are a pretty close second.
B ended up sleeping in an extra hour until nearly nine o'clock on Sunday morning! Even though we typically go to the early service at church, we were glad to go to the second service instead, because it meant we all got a good night's sleep.
